Case 3: Initiation of Immune Tolerance Induction in a 1-Year Old Boy with Inhibitors

Patient started on an immune tolerance induction (ITI) regimen

– Administered FVIII 100 IU/kg BID

– Laboratory assessment of FVIII activity and inhibitor done every 2 weeks

– Acute bleeding episodes treated PRN with bypassing product

Treatment Course
Follow up	Outcome
1 month	Inhibitor 4 BU, continue FVIII infusion BID
3 months	Inhibitor 3 BU, continue FVIII infusion BID
5 months	Inhibitor 1 BU, change FVIII infusion to QD
6 months	Inhibitor undetected, change FVIII infusion to QOD
12 months	Inhibitor still undetectable, On 3 times/week infusion
