Toddler to Preschooler

– Jeffrey is now an active 20-month-old boy

 

• He slips while attending day care and hits his head

– Medical history

 

• Diagnosed with severe hemophilia A after a bleeding episode that occurred following his circumcision at 2 days of age
• Developed a knee bleed at 14 months of age that required 3 days of infusions
• After the knee bleed, prophylaxis as needed was started
  • Initially infused at the clinic by the nursing staff; parents eventually trained to infuse his factor at home

– Current status

 

• Bruising at the site of trauma
• No lethargy or loss of appetite reported
